Hey, everyone. I trust all is well on your respective ends. I wanted to share a brief update touching on some significant changes with regard to the website and Shmuptopia in general.
There's been a ton on the go over the last while and this has required a tremendous amount of focus elsewhere.
At this point, I'm no longer able to devote time to creating supporter exclusive material, so I will be refunding anyone who has already donated this month as I will not have a February video for you. I will also cancel all subscriptions to me on the website and Ko-Fi before the month is over (I'm almost positive it will let me do that - otherwise, please unsubscribe immediately).
As for the YouTube channel, other than a handful of videos I've already committed to (which will roll out over the coming months of this year or next at whatever slow pace I can manage), my aim is to discontinue Shmuptopia.
There are a number of reasons for this but I'll just touch on a couple of them.
As some of you know, Rolling Gunner has been an incredibly deep relationship for over a year. In all honesty, I have zero interest in playing or sampling other shooters. It's to the point where I can no longer claim that I play Shmups. I wouldn't even say I "play" Rolling Gunner - I simply experience it at the level I do.
That said, it doesn't feel appropriate to continue covering games when I'm no longer invested in them.
Additionally, with my focus shifting in life, the mental bandwidth creating videos requires takes too much of my time, energy, and focus away from where it needs to be.
If I do end up creating anything for the channel after my commitment videos are wrapped up, it'll likely be the odd controller review here or there or something random within or outside of gaming but only time will tell if time allows.
That's all I'll get into.
I want to thank you all for being the most stellar. You guys have been the best ever and I truly cannot thank you enough for all of the ways you've shown your support.
All the best with your shooting.
It is sad to hear that the channel may be coming to an end, but creating content should be fun first and foremost.
Besides, the real world and especially family should come first.
Still hope to hear from you from time to time!
